pwr window not working

Passenger side power window in my 2000’ Venture suddenly stopped working yesterday. Clicking both master switch and the other one on the passenger side doesn’t help. Driver side pwr window works fine.
The broken window is closed (thanks Good!) so I can drive for a while. My worst fear is that I need the replace a window regulator which is quite expensive.

Is there any other part/problem besides the broken power regulator that could create the window malfunction?
I read something about melting switches on this forum but I would be surprised if two of them (passenger and driver side) went bad at the same time.

Because of the way things are wired, only ONE of the switches needs to go in order to kill the window control... Just hope it's the pass switch, cause the stealership just hit me for $68 for a driver side "master" switch... I actually SAVED $10 by getting quotes from 2 dealers... $68 was the CHEAPER price!

Test the pinouts on the switches before doing anything dramatic. It's likely a master switch like mine, but it is POSSIBLE that BOTH of the actually ARE defective, or there is a broken ground wire. Nice design, it puts the switches in a place where if the windows are left open, rain comes right down the inside of the door, saturates the switches, and then they fry...

Good luck!

Tom,
Thank you for the tips. I will definitely check the switches and I will let you know about the outcome.
I think this forum is a great place for people looking for troubleshutting advices.
Thanks
