I'm pretty biased towards Nissan [and Infiniti] so I like QX4 a lot more. Which one would you rather get?

If those were my choices I would go with the Nissian too. I only wish Nissian brought some of their "fast" to the US.

how can you even put the two in the same category... just the infiniti name is superior to toyota. and with a 240hp engine, the 4runner can't even run close... not to mention the luxury that's attached to the infiniti name badge. and at the same price range... who would want a 4 runner? the qx4 is everything the 4runner is... and a whole lot more...

that's just my thoughts...

I figure that from your username :D
But I think we should compare Pathfinder and the 4Runner - their MSRP is a lot closer.

Pathfinder LE 4WD - $29,043
4Runner SR5 V6 4WD - $28,895
QX4 4WD - $33,353

actually i've got a 4runner and those things aren't that slow...we payed 38,000 for mine but its got the limited package...Anyways how can u say that infiniti is so much better in quality when Toyota has just as much quality and reliability as Infiniti(why don't we compare Lexus with Infiniti then, Luxury division to Luxury division)..I mean you can't just compare your best SUV to the 4Runner...Then why don't we compare the RX400 to the QX4 then we have a different story...Anyways i'm not here to flame or anything...Just sticking up for Toyota...U just made it sound like Toyota's were so much worse than Infiniti.

Peace

It's RX300, not RX400 :D
Anyways, I think we should just compare Nissan Pathfinder to Toyota 4Runner.

This is what edmunds gives for each car:
Nissan Pathfinder LE 4x4

Pros: Powerful V6 engine, carlike interior, good reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
Cons: Tight rear seat, high price tag, cheap interior bits.
MSRP: $29,102 Effective until 1/30/2001

Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4
Pros: Great crash-test scores, roomy interior, truck-tough underpinnings, power hatch glass.
Cons: Hard to climb in and out of, dated dashboard design, weak V6 engine, truck-like ride quality and handling.
MSRP: $26,512 Effective until 1/30/2001

I'll go find some reviews on both of these cars.

I agree we shouldn't compare infiniti with toyota...Infiniti and Lexus may be another story.

i would definitly have to say the QX-4 b/c its a hell lot nicer than the toyota .....no offense i like it but ive been in the inside of it and its that special its kinda out dated if u ask me . The QX-4 is a whole lot nicer on the inside and i think it has a little more power than the 4runner ...doesn't it correct me if im wrong :) just the overal quality and suv would have to go to the infinity

VTEC V6

but you guys are forgetint hat the QX4 and the Pathfinder is the exact same truck. well on the engine and drive train department that is. they perform exactly the same, its just that the QX4 looks alot more elegant as where the Pathfinder looks like a truck version of the R34 Skyline GT-R. that is why i love it soo much. heheh

A QX4 is just a fancied up Pathfinder. I've drove both and theres hardly any difference, except for the price of the QX4. I'd have to say Acura MDX, way better than both. Excluding the Q45, I think all the Infiniti cars are Nissans with a Luxo touch.

well you gotta give the QX4 some credit it helped jumpstart the Luxury SUV market again

it's basically a luxury pathfinder :)
