Make sure the battery and alternator are OK. The first thing the ECM shuts down is the ABS when the voltage is low. This would cause the ABS light to come on. A low battery or bad alternator can also cause false codes to be stored. If both are OK....

I would make sure the year of the car that the ABS computer came from is the same year of your car. If both are 1999 make sure it had the same engine as your car also (both 3.5L and 3800 were available in 1999). If all is consistent, try unplugging the ABS computer unhook the negative battery terminal and let it sit for about 10 minutes then plug the ABS box back in and hook the battery back up (all in that order) and see if this works. You may just need to reset the ECM before you plug in the ABS box.

Where was the module that you replaced located??? I'm sure you've solved your original problem (above) by now...but I have an issue with my '00 Intrigue and need some help confirming the location of the ABS computer on the vehicle.

Thanks in advance for your help!!
