No, the A/C Button has to be pushed to be using A/C.

Not on a 93. There is no A/C button. Well at least not on mine, I have a 93 2.3 HO

Yes, when MAX is on, it is just short for Max A/C.

i have a 1993 3.3V6. If i have the A/C on, then turn it off and just leave the vent on.. Its still the same cold air for a while, as if the A/C was on.

when you turn off the a/c, there is still cold refrigerant in the a/c system. you are getting cold air for a short while because it is just the remainder of the refrigerant cooling the incoming air.
