We have a 2000 Chevrolet Venture...bought it 5 months ago at 27000 miles...have 47000 on it now...sometimes it starts.....sometimes it won't. Changed the ignition module (after failed test) and 3 coils (after low test readings)....still didn't start. Removed the cap on the EVAP and released the pressure...IT STARTED! Shut it off...restarted it X3. Drove it awhile (3 miles), parked and shut it off. Wouldn't restart. Tried to release pressure again...no avail. Pulled the vacuum hose off of ??? one of the fuel lines??? and it started. Do you have any further suggestions?

EBAY ? Just Kidding.

I have a 2000 Venture that eats oil more than gas. Can't figure out why or where its going.

Mine has the exact same problem....

I don't know what it is or how to fix it, any trouble codes???

I took mine to a local shadetree and had him work on it and he said that he found absolutley nothing out of the ordinary. You may have a stuck purge valve.

this is what someone said, but it is on a montana. Give it a shot

Thanks for reply Dan! They finally diagnosed the problem! It was a short in the wiring harness leading to the fuel pump. I'm sure it was interupting the fuel flow and that is what caused the problem. The total bill will probably run $170.00 Parts&Labor. It will be nice not worrying about it anymore, especially with the newborn infants in the car.

Also, anyone know how easy it is to replace the temperature sensor that provides the information for the overhead display. I think it is located behind the grill somewhere. The part is only $9, but they wanted $35 to install it and I thought I would do it myself.

Temp sensor is located on passenger side behind grill. one screw to change it out after pulling the electrical plug. Really easy to do!
