i have a 2004 4Runner and i've been using fully synthetic motor oil since i got it. My questions are.... a lot of the newer cars lately have longer oil change intervals and are designed a lot better, i was wondering if i should even still use the synthetic. question 2 the manufacturer suggested oil change interval is 5k....how long would the intervals be since i use fully synthetic motor oil???? just a thought.

also on another note...does anyone know how many watts flow to each speaker on the standard stereo on the 04 4Runner SR-5. I'm thinking about getting some aftermarket speakers but i'm not ready to get an amp yet.

Get a good set of speakers, it won't matter how many watts the stock radio runs. When you're ready to get an amp, you'll match it up with the speakers specifications and it'll sound a lot better than factory.

thanks for the info havic. would i notice a sound difference right away without an amp. I'm thinking of getting a good set of kenwoods. also, I was thinking of getting an 8" powered bazooka tube. I don't want any crazy bass that the whole neighborhood can hear, i just want it to sound good in the car. I also don't want a sub that takes up so much space in the back. is the bazooka a good choice or would it sound good enought w/ the kenwoods and an amp? i'm not so much of a car audio buff.

It's too late for this, but for anybody else that cares, from my experience in breaking things in and from talking to some guys that I know who build engines, an engine should be broken in using regular ol' conventional oil. Synthetics are too slick and don't let the engine break in properly. I normally run regular run of the mill oil the first two oil changes (what ever the manufacturer recommends) then I switch to Mobil1 with a Mobil1 filter.

If you use good long lasting synthetic oil, use a good filter that will also last, otherwise, the engine might be using dirty oil instead of filtered oil.
I've heard that Mobil1 is good for somewhere like 10,000 miles but I change mine around 7,000.
Do research on "oil filter studies" and form your own opinion.

Bazooka tubes would definatly be the way to go if you want something that doesnt take up a lot of space. It wont be very loud, but it'll definatly hit harder than any mids will. Hope this helps

The kenwoods will sound better than the factory speakers, even without the amp. You can upgrade later, and a decent amp won't cost you much. The bazooka is definitely the way to go if you don't want to take up much room. The bass is less than a sub with a box, but it's better than any mid. My advice is get quality stuff, that way you don't have to spend twice the money later on to upgrade.
