Bad Key Ignition

After I start the car on my girlfriend's Intrigue I can effortlessly pull out the key while it is in the "Run" position. Anyone else have this problem? If so and you had it fixed, how much did it cost?

It sounds like the key is just worn down. When you stick the key in the ignition, its just metal to metal contact (the key vs the tumblers in the lock). After enough time and use the key and the tumblers wear down. The sharp crisp edges become dull rounded humps. If you have another original key (from the factory or that was a spare made long before the key started pulling out of the ignition) that wasn't used much, I would bet that it couldn't be pulled out. The soultion if you don't have another key is to get one cut by the dealer for the car (you give the dealer the VIN number and proof you own the car and they cut a key) or replace the lock in the column and new keys made for the new lock. Having the dealer cut a key is alot less than replacing the lock in the column which would also make it a different key from the doors and trunk. Hope this helped!!!
