i just baught a 95 ranger and when i acelerate from a full stop my tires want to burn out it is 4x4 rear weel drive 4.0 v6 does anyone know why or have a way to fix this problem

I dont know of too many people complaining about squealing tires when they take off. Safe to say that the engine dont lack any power. Lol.
I think it's just the fact that the rear end is light. You could either add weight to the back(but lose the gas milage) or just find some tires that grip better. Or you could put a locker in the rear end and do one helluva smokey brakestand!!!(Just kidding)

thanks for the idea i kinda thought that too cus i dont have a spair tire but wasnt sure the tires i have are a lil over sized for the truck aswell

if you have oversized tires and still have spinning tire problems,i want that motor!!!

the engine is stock 4.0 the only reason i baught the truck was because it purs like a cat didnt dream of it being a mean SOB

My bro has a 96 2wd with the similar problem and he put a couple of sandbags in the back to add weight for more traction. It worked for him.

If you dont have a bedliner, get one. The weight from that helps too.

It is setup to pull. In other words it is setup to have extra weight on the back. I wouldn't complain though. Put some mud grips (big ones) on it that should stop the problem.

i have the same truck, 1995, 4.0L, 5 speed 4x4 with 31" tires and it has the same problem, it gets me into trouble :evillol:

i have a 4.0 v6 and i put 295/50/15's under it and i can still walk it side ways in 1st 2nd and bark in 3rd so good look being able to keep mudd grips from spinning
take your foot out of it a little.

I have a 94 with a 4.0 too. You just have to learn to take off slower, or at least check for cops first, cause thety all tear out on take off. Rangers are super light in the back end.

No offense meant, but I'm thinkin' that ur a leadfoot and don't know it if ur burnin' out that bad... or that's one oversized motor or it's continually wet where you are.
