Wondering if anyone knows to shut off the "change oil" light. Just changed oil myself and I dont have the car manual.
Thanks in advance.

On my girlfriend's '99 Olds Intrigue, I turn the key on (but don't start the engine) and slowly press the gas pedal to the floor and let up slowly three times within 5 seconds. You'll see the "Change Oil" light blink if you're successful. I would think that the same procedure would work for for your Silhouette.

2001 - Advance your odometer/trip meter to the oil setting and holding it in will reset the light.

What year?

Like al_donald said if your oil life monitor is on your odometer do it that way.

If a little older, try turning the key to on (not started) press the gas to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds then remove key. This should clear it.
