TURN OFF "CHANGE OIL" LIGHThottest3000gt 06-23-2004, 12:08 PM Wondering if anyone knows to shut off the "change oil" light. Just changed oil myself and I dont have the car manual. Thanks in advance. Ruley73 06-25-2004, 03:45 AM On my girlfriend's '99 Olds Intrigue, I turn the key on (but don't start the engine) and slowly press the gas pedal to the floor and let up slowly three times within 5 seconds. You'll see the "Change Oil" light blink if you're successful. I would think that the same procedure would work for for your Silhouette. al donald 09-28-2004, 11:47 PM 2001 - Advance your odometer/trip meter to the oil setting and holding it in will reset the light. If a little older, try turning the key to on (not started) press the gas to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds then remove key. This should clear it.
