my car was almost STOLEN!!!!! (pics)natcc99 01-25-2002, 01:24 AM I can't beleive it. my car was almost stolen the other day. I went to school late in the evening and when I came out, I noticed that someone tried to go through my hood to disconnect my battery. I'm sure they were trying to shut off my alarm. I checked with the security office to file a report and they said that I was lucky because three other cars were stolen that day at that time!!!! My car was damaged a little. my grill is damaged my radiator behind the grill is damaged my hood is also damaged (if you remember, I was in an accident about 4 months ago and just recently I was able to fix it with a brand new hood and brand new paint job) I'm not too upset that my car was damaged, because I'm more excited that my car was NOT stolen!!! I can't believe how CLOSE I was to LOSING MY CAR!!! NOW THAT scares me!!!!!!! http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/964147damage01.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/212986damage02.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/806910damage03.jpg b16b bomber 01-25-2002, 03:05 AM damn that sucks that grill could of slowed him down SpoilerV2 01-25-2002, 03:51 AM lucky you that they tried going through the grill.. that probably slowed them down. Couple months ago my car got broken into.. they went thru the fende well to the hood cable release. aLtErEgO 01-25-2002, 01:31 PM That grill def slowed them down....They didn't do the hood cable in the fender which is good...your very lucky kid......:flash: 4ndrms 01-25-2002, 02:05 PM man that sux,i'm glad they didn't steal it toilet_ninja 01-25-2002, 02:33 PM that sucks! when i first heard about being able to open the hood through the fender well, i decided to get locking hood pins. but since i killed my car, i dont need it anymore. HOOD PINS:D natcc99 01-25-2002, 03:03 PM whoa... i didn't know you can get to the cable through the fenders!!! YIKES what about those hood pins??? how do they lock into place? with a simple "master" lock or something? Dahmin8 01-25-2002, 09:03 PM Sorry about the near theft.:( But I am glad to see that you still have your car. :D I also didn't know that you could get to hood release cable through the fender well. I purchased some hood pins a few months ago but never installed them. Are locking hood pins a definite theft deterrant? I guess this needs to be a Top Secret Topic so that future perpetrators can't use this kind of info. Good luck on your next mod to stop those thief Natcc99.:smoka: natcc99 01-26-2002, 05:08 PM Originally posted by Dahmin8 Sorry about the near theft.:( But I am glad to see that you still have your car. :D I also didn't know that you could get to hood release cable through the fender well. I purchased some hood pins a few months ago but never installed them.
