May buy sc400JBL85 01-25-2002, 12:29 AM This is a slow car, its a 93 with 100k....is it worth buying...or should I stick with a 2k2 Civic/Accord with a manual tranny.....or can I fix up a sc400 for cheap and make it fast? SportSC4 02-07-2002, 02:44 AM There are not many mods for the SC400. You can do exhaust, headers, intake (with a full intake you HAVE to get an ECU upgrade, this is true even for GS400s), S-AFC, and torque converter. On a '93 I think the closest you could run is *maybe* mid 13's to high 13's at sea level... I'll be able to tell you for sure when I'm done :D You can fit in a 150 shot nitrous kit and only need a larger fuel pump, that should put you into the mid 12's. How much are you looking to spend? If I was to do it all over again I would have bought a '92 or '95 SC300 (5-speed) with messed up paint and bumpers with low miles. With the money saved I would buy a body kit, paint job, AFC and a Toyomoto 1.5 turbo kit (and debadge it, hehe). That's roughly 425 to the rear wheels on stock internals and pump gas. Mid 11's. I can go more into detail, if you have any questions feel free to email me or PM me. nick@lexusport.com JBL85 02-07-2002, 06:33 PM I think I am going to get an Accord Coupe it has more options.....is your name Nick too? papanature 06-09-2002, 01:25 AM I think getting a SC300 would be a better choice than an Accord. With the SC300, it would be able to handle more boost since it has the 2JZGE. JBL85 06-10-2002, 06:03 PM A little late, I ended up with a 2002 Nissan Altima, but thanx :D Yeah I wish I bought the lexus now, oh well....at least I have warranty and a brand new car with 5,600 miles on it now. papanature 07-23-2002, 04:30 AM My wife has a '02 Altima 2.5 but it's auto. Not a bad car except it should have been the 3.5 instead. Anyway, I'll be buying a late model SC400 within the next couple months. JBL85 07-23-2002, 11:30 AM Yeah I wish I had a 3.5, but my 2.5 is coming along nicely modifications wise and I will turn more heads then if I was in the lexus. Im thinking about getting one, but i dont want it to be too slow. JBL85 10-25-2002, 03:54 PM SC400 runs a low 15 and SC300 runs a low 16. Decent for what you get, nice smooth ride and beautiful looking ride. Leon Millette 10-29-2002, 05:59 AM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
