Running Board InstallationMekanic 06-22-2004, 03:00 PM My son has a '96 Grand Cherokee and was given a set of Aluminum tubular running boards that will fit this vehicle. Upon looking under the chassis at the frame I did not see any pre-drilled holes for the mounting brackets of the running boards. Would large diameter ( 1/4" to 3/8" )sheet metal screws be sufficient to fasten the brackets to the frame? Or should we try to drill holes in the frame to accommodate long bolts? Thanks for your advice. chris5.2 06-23-2004, 08:30 AM hi, when i got my gc93 it had on runing boards held in place by big screws ,they use to shake like crasy . i had to have the brackets welded to the frame , i hope this help . chris5.2 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
