What are your cops favorite things to bust?maximagirl420 06-21-2004, 01:09 AM The Rogue Valley in Oregon (Ashland, Medford, Central Point, White City, Eagle Point, Shady Cove; Southern Oregon) love any possible reason to pull you over to run your name for a warrant. (There is a lot of people here wanted for meth.) Then there is the standard license/insurance check. Then, if it's only a burned out bulb, or something really minor (I've heard of someone getting pulled over for their tailights being different colors), you get a warning. But they will ticket for speeding. They have a lot of competition. Each town has too many cops as it is, plus Jackson County and State Police. The towns are so close. You can go from Shady Cove to Ashland, that's six towns total, in 45 minutes. Also, if you visit from a state that only has one license plate on the back of the car, be prepared to see a lot of cops flipping a b-. And they'll be jerks. Two weeks back from a few months in Oklahoma got me a ticket. The cop just writes it. They let you try to prove to the judge you haven't been here a month yet. Cops here are oppressive to the point you're afraid to drive downtown. They follow people just long enough to run the plates. I had a much better driving experience in OK. Plus you can drive 65 there. Igovert500 06-22-2004, 10:48 AM hmmm...well a few of them (not all) pull over people for being black...no joke, my friend gets sh!t all the time(he's black and drives a '90 honda...he must be a drug dealer). Right now they are crazy over the 'click it or ticket' campaign. The drinking and driving thing...yeah they don't like that They obviously don't like bodykits/exhausts or anything that 'makes you a racer' I get cops following me all the time because I have NY plates in PA(shocking...I know) And lastly, they frown on you speeding in excess of 100mph pretty standard stuff actually CarSuperfreak 06-22-2004, 11:11 AM I live on the outskirts of a small town (i live in rochester hills, which surrounds the city of rochester weridly enough) , that in the past 5 years rochester has become a place where all the rich people move; it sickens me. Anyways, they now have their own little police force of seriously about 10 or more patrol cars, and the whole little city of rochester is less than 5 square miles. So the cops bust you for the stupidist stuff, all the time. people getr pulled over for no headlights near dusk (but foglights and running lights were on), the colored windshield washer things, for not using turn signals, for tint on the front windows, even 5 mph over the speed limit or less. granted i know that all of these things are technically illegal, but if you go through downtown and you are in one of these categories, you get pulled over. every time. We were out one night, and between 3 people going to this guys house and through the rest of the night, we had been pulled over by rochester police a total of 5 times within 4 hours. they seriously need to find something better to do. and now! they just passed an ordinance where a cop can pull you over just because he feels like it. he doesnt have to have any reason other than he doesnt like you. i hate rochester lol thunderbird muscle 06-24-2004, 11:38 PM No reason to pull you over! That is a violition of rights! zebrathree 06-25-2004, 05:01 AM No it's not. thunderbird muscle 06-27-2004, 11:04 PM So your saying it isn't a violation of rights to be pulled over because of the way you look. Age, color, type of car. If you didn't do anything you shouldn't be pulled over. Their job is to protect not hassle maximagirl420 07-06-2004, 11:30 AM Protection doesn't make money. 83-944 07-06-2004, 04:03 PM The cops around here are relatively leanient so long as you don't piss one off. They are very polite and professional UNLESS you pissed one off. If you did, you are gonna get stopped alot. Always a BS reason for pulling over, and they're just doing it to hassle you. A friend has had his car searched 15 times for whatever they feel he was doing suspiciously. He told a cop about 2 years ago to go eat a donut. Z_Fanatic 07-06-2004, 07:34 PM  CivicSlayr 07-09-2004, 07:43 AM Around here (hagerstown, MD) the local cops arn't to bad, they pretty much stay downtown, and even when you are downtown they don't hassle you, some of them are pretty cool actualy, but its those darn state troopers that i don't like, they seem to have nothing better to do but pull over teens, those are the only people that i ever see pulled over, teens. No old people, no middle aged, teens. You could be 40, and doing 60 in a 50 and the trooper wouldn't care, but that teen behind you that is going the same speed as you, they get pulled over, its a giant load of bs, they just wantto take away our lisences. Sticky 07-09-2004, 09:58 AM Cops in Parkville (Missouri) pretty much go after speeding. It's the same with county cops. My friend did get pulled over by a state trooper for no seatbelt and going ten over. I've only been pulled over once in a year and two months of driving. bumpn lude 07-10-2004, 04:21 AM cops where i live are the worst. ive had a friend get pulled over because he had a red 3000gt vr4 and the cop said it looked too fast. he also got pulled over 2 days later for an illegal blowoff valve check. luckly his car was stock. ive been in trouble twice for playing basketball at a nearby park too late. the sign says the park is closed 1 hour after sunset and the same cop comes pulling up exactly one hour after twice and writes down my drivers info. he says one more time and my car will be impounded for 2 weeks. if u think u got it bad then dont drive around roseville, california! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
