'04 Steering wheel position (problem)?

Was wondering if this is a serious problem to rectify.

I just noticed that my '04 GP GTP's steering is a bit "off"

The steering wheel's full lock (left) will have the steering wheel at the 3 c'clock position, but then I have to full lock (right) it's between 1 and 2 o'clock position.

Anyone has any ideas why?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply,

Hmmm ok, the steering wheel is now refered to as SW.

When the SW is turned to the left as far as it will go, the SW points to the 9 o'clock position (Full lock left)

But when it is turned right as far as it will go, it points to 2 o'clock position.

Basically I believe whenever you turn your SW to the max limit, the final resting position should be mirror images of each other, but mine isn't.

x
o o b
a o o a1
o o
o

Ok... so let's say the above "image" is the SW. The max it will turn (left dir) is to position 1 (about 1.25 turns/revolutions) so that the "x" is facing "a". But when I turn it right (almost 1.25 turns), the "x" stops at position "b" when I think position "a1" would be wherer it should stop..

Sorry for the crap pic, I failed art class. Lol, I'm a cook, not a painter.

Thanks for your input.

Ok.. thatr pic didn;t turn out right.....

Bacicall, after 1.25 revolutions left, the top of my SW faces W, but when I turn it right, it does less than 1.25 revoultions (turns) and faces the NE. Makes sense? :P

Just so you all know, I've decided to send the car into the dealership to see what's wrong (At 7am!!). Stay tuned for the update.... If I'm lucid enough to type it out

Ok, sent the car in, and the dealer said that the steering is within specs. Any other 04 GP GTP owners can confirm that their steering wheels DO NOT lock at the opposite position when turned to the max?

Thanks

I have a 04 rental currently and I checked the steering and it does the same as yours
