The Fact that I saw Steve 's ( Primera 90 ) engine helped me solve a big problem. How does everyone clean the engine ? Mine was so black I could not see a thing ?

What is the safest way to do this ?

Visit your local auto parts store and get some engine degreaser. Than open the hood. Cover electrical things with a plastic bag or something to prevent them from getting wet. Spray generous amounts of degreaser on engine. Let it bake...oopsss errr I mean let it sit there for a few minutes. Then hose off. It should have directions on the can to be more specific.

ORRRRR!!! You could just take it to the local car wash and get it detailed there. Shouldn't cost much for them to clean the engine. And they could probably do the undercarriage.
