I just bought a new Honda Civic and it was manufactured in May. How long should I wait to wax it?

You can wax it right now if you wanted. Personally I would use some quality paint sealer.

30 days after manufactured date is fine to wax or seal.

jackassi, how do you know it is safe to wax if it was done in May? It could have been manufactured in late May so it might not be 30 days yet.

30 days nothing, at both BMW & Honda new cars were sent out for a polish right away. Usually same day they arrived on lot. When you buy a new car the dealer tries to rip you off on paint sealer, thats applied to fresh paint!!!!!!! Cars don't sit on the lot 30days before being sold or prepped.

Why do hondas and beemers scratch so easy when brand new? I can use a rough paper towel on any of the cars we have on our lot after washing them and they dont scratch but these imported cars get scratchy real easy. Also bmw has to apply a product called shipping wax do they not? Then the dealer has to have it removed. The paint sealant that those dealers are trying to rip you off come with backed up warranties that cover repaint if any of the terms it states to protect the paint fails. The warranty lasts as long as you own the car as long as you get it inspected every year. Ive seen people pay the 400 dollars for the sealant come back after 3-4 years with a small defect or burn in the paint get free paint jobs and re applications. If you lease dont put it on its a rip off , if your buying then look deeper into it.
