intake, cam, torque convertor and rear gears are important
I would try:
edelbrock performer rpm intake
650 double pumper carb
chevy 350/350hp cam .450/.460 lift 224@.050
10 inch 3000 stall convertor
4.10 rear gears

The above, if used in a good 350 ci motor should run in the 13 sec range.

Man, you would smoke those hondas with your car running on 7 cylinders (i know, becasue i did it 3 diffrent times lol)!!! I have the same setup you do except a 600cfm carb and no headers. Me and my other muscle car friends go rice hunting every weekend and i havent lost a race yet. So you should be set there. Im not sure how streetable you want yours to be but mine is a daily driver and i plan on getting some 12:1 compression pistons, a crane cam, edelbrock heads, and headers.

IF you want it to be a daily driver dont get the 12:1 pistons. Unless you want to buy racing gas all the time.

And there are much better cams out there than the old 350hp 350 cam.

Friend has 72 Nova engine 250 ci, bored to 4" or .125" over stock. Where can he find a head gasket?

welcoms to AF and all, but WTF. go start your own thread dude. you dont just go in someone elses thread and post a question especaily one that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC. you could get away with it if it was close or similar, but thats not.

Excue me 68 Chevelle! So who started this thread anyway? It appears it was started by nova73apred who was asking about horsepower. Why shouldn't some in this forum possibly be aware of a head gasket source for a modified engine Chevy Nova engine?

Ive got an idea, how about everyone stops whoring this thread and get back to subject of how to make more horsepower on Nova73's Nova?

You could do like me, I have a HUGE comp cam, harland sharp roller rockers, moroso stud girdle, victor jr. intake, holley 750 vacume secondary carb, headers, world products heads, some aftermarket hei distributor i found in the chevy shed, true roller timing chain, 9:1 pistons, forged rods, balanced crank, and i run 3.08's my only real flaw. :sly:

mild cam,2400 stall, shift kit and3.7 gears. dont go to big with your carb. too big and youll wash out your motor. you should have no problem with those bumblebees on wheeles. unless there is nos involed.you cant beat cubes

Too big and you will wash out your motor? Never heard of that one. You need to take your time and pick the parts carefully. Intake, camshaft and gears. They all need to work in the same rpm range. Just remember that the q jets are 750 or 800 cfm and the holleys that chevy used on there high horse motors were 750 and 780 cfm.

73 350 is not a high compression and horsepower motor. too much carb means too much gas and not enough motor to handle it. lots of black smoke and lots of fowled plugs. not alot of power. bigger is not always better. compatable parts working together properly make power
