whats the best place to get parts for a 66 GTO. Which catalogue has the best products? I'm more concerned with quality than price.

question.
When one is starting a total restoration where do they start. The car needs engine work interior work, and body work. I'm not sure what i want to do with the engine yet, i might keep the engine that it has in it and rebuild it, or i might buy a new engine, is there any drawback to doing the interior or the body work first. is there any chance of the work on the interior or the exterior being disturbed or banged up by the work on the engine/transmission etc. I'm new to the car restoration hobby and am not sure where to start.

Just my 2 cents, but I would do the engine, tranny, front end, exhaust all engine mods, and stuff first get it riding nice and performing. I would then proceed on getting the seats done, carpet interior repainted, dashboard whateven might need changing on the inside and then then leave the paint job to last, by a nice set of 19 or 20 inch rims for it and your set :)

Oh yea when your doing the engine and all that good stuff don't forget to drop those gears in the back good combo's are 3:73, or 4:11 if you plan on going light to light. Some guys like to drop 3 spds but I like the good old 2 spd, can't kill em. With my 2 spd I plan on putting a highstall converter in it to work on my hole shot. I also ripped out my fan, and ran an all electric fan, that was nice touch, car never over heats even on the hot days. Plus you save that 1 hp with no fan slowing you down lol. Have fun :)

www.yearone.com and www.amesperformance.com are good but i would prefer ames over year one.19 or 20inch? are u crazy thats way to big and it will make the car look really stupid the biggest u put on a mucle car is 17 or maybe an 18. well to start out with u just get the car running and driving and then work on the body and do the interior and performance last. just seee how much money u have and then go from there. hey u happen to have any pics of ur 66 Goat? if u want to take a look at my 65 temp comtact me on on AIM kev31289
