hello again-
So ive been noticing that whenever i get into higher speeds even if my active aero is off...the red "AERO" light on my dash turns on...since im waiting for my manual to come in from the dealer still i dont know whether the light means something is wrong with the system or what?? i know that its on when the green light turns on, on the console. But what about the Dash???? anyone with Info please let me know---Thanks

When the aero light comes on, remember the switch with the GREEN light? yes, you do.

DON'T PUSH IT!

Stock 3000GTs are not equipped to fly. You want your aero on.

While it's possible to turn it on under 80, I think it's a sure thing that it will come on over that speed.

As I said, it's a button you push to make yoru car fly...

Just kidding. :) On the 3000gt's it's more gee-whizzy than anything.

Over 80km/h, the spoiler angles downward and an airdam lowers in the front to prevent too much air getting under the car.

On some Nissan Skylines, a small spoiler lowers out of the front airdam, giving increased downforce at the front (This is really useful)

On a Porsche Boxter, the rear spoiler goes from smooth profile to a real spoiler.

Etc. Lots of performance cars have it, especially ones without obvious rear spoilers. Often they have them under the front and back, or they're designed to look like part of the boot when not in use.

3rd day in my dream vr4 I swerve to miss a cat and ran up a curb. Dented my rims, (sob), also did a number on my front active aero airdam, any advice, the light is on, but I havn't had the chance to take of the airdam and inspect further damage. It drove home fine, no damage to anything noticeable; alignment was good, car ran fine(besides dented rim), and body looked fine. However the airdam was partially ripped off at impact and is hanging down. I have garaged it, until I can get the chance to fix it. It's a 96. Any clue as to potential damage, costs of repair, or anything I should be aware of? Thanks

I know its going to run a few hundred bucks for the new parts :frown: Sorry to hear that you got blindsided by a cat. I'm sure the owner is glad you didn't take it out. Take it in for a few estimates. Make sure you go to someone who understands how these cars work.
