What should the oil pressure gauge read ?
My guage seems to stay at 40 ...some times when i hit the gas it will creep up a bit but very sporadic...also when i am at a light after driving for a while @20min (stop n go or hiway) it will drop to 0 and light will flicker until i tap the gas it will go back up for a min than drop until i continue driving...

Hi David
the specs say that the minimum oil pressure should be 13psi at 600 rpm, and with in a range of 37 to 75 psi above 1600 rpm.
the pressure regulator is set for a maximum of 75 psi
pressures should be checked with a mechanical gauge before you consider any repairs.

I made a mistake it actually holds steady at 20 ( according to gauge)

If your conserned about engine damage, the rule of thunb is 10 lbs oil pressure for every 1000 rpms. I diffinatly agree will the previous post, check the pressure with a mechanical gauge first and soon.
