Rear-end Noise

Noticing an annoying metallic rattling noise coming from the driver's-side rear-end of my 99 GTP. Only obvious at slow speeds when I hit a pothole or speedbump. I jacked up the car and found no play in either rear wheel. Didn't find anything lose underneath. Just noticed in the past couple of weeks. Only work I've had done was a 4-wheel alignment. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks in-advance.

lose tire or bolt rattling in trunk compartment? my plastic wheel liners were loose and caused horrible rattling sound from the rear, someone said they thought my wheel sounded like it was going to fall off. after i put a set of new rims/wheels on i took it to have it aligned and they found that the last alignment on it wasn't done right and the nuts that tighten for adjustment were just hand tight or held in place by a build of mud and dirt, could have lost that wheel at anytime.

Thanks. Found the nut that holds the jack tight in place was not installed. Not sure yet if that's the solution. Removed the d/s rear wheel and checked for loose suspension/fittings. No play in brake calipers. Struts/springs appear firm. Tightened wheel liners and rear bumper cover last week (epoxied) so don't think that can't be the problem. We'll see tomorrow when I take her to work.

I also had a squeak every time I went over a bump or speedhump slowly while my car was still under warranty. This happened twice; once on each side. Dealer replaced struts both times.

Found that the rear d/s strut/strut mount failed. Having all four replaced.

Change 1. Turned out that a bolt on the control arm was loose. Struts checked out ok afterall.
