need new egr valvestegall 06-16-2004, 02:12 PM I have been told that I need an egr valve for my millenia. Does anyone know where I could purchase this without it being so expensive? homie774899 07-05-2004, 09:40 PM it has to be done at the dealer, very expensive anthonypjr 07-13-2004, 09:45 AM I had my EGR valve replaced at my local mechanic, but the actual EGR valve was ordered directly from the Mazda dealer. The EGR valve was $316 + $60 labor. Hope this helps ! TOMKLEM 09-20-2004, 01:23 PM I have a 97 Millenia and they told me I needed a new EGR valve...It is spendy. Instead of putting in a new one I had them clean it w/ degreaser and a brush. It worked fine for approx 2 yrs. After that my check engine light started coming on again. I had them clean it and it's been another 1 1/2 years. It only cost around $50 to vclean it. You might want to try that. rjinw 11-17-2004, 02:03 PM I have a 97 Millenia and they told me I needed a new EGR valve...It is spendy. How did they clean it? jmoore284 08-10-2005, 03:59 PM Just take off the egr valve located on the passenger side rear of the engine. Spray some carb cleaner in it let it sit for a few seconds and then wipe it clean with a towel. You might want to spray a little bit inside the opening it bolts back onto and start ur engine to cut down on build up inside hte openings but this should take care of cleaning it. In case this does not fix it you may want to check my new post that explains the fix to the egr replacement problem that plagues the mazda millenia. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
