The fuel pump on my 89 grand prix keeps running after you shut the car off. I finally disconnnected the battery. I noticed the guages didn't zero out either now. Anyone got any ideas what is going on with this thing? All help and ideas would be much appreciated.

What do I need to be looking for when checking the oil sender and fuel pump relay? I hooked the battery back up tonight and now no fuel pump noises and guages did what they were suppose to do, but who knows when it might do this again? I turned the key to start it up and the fuel pump kicked in and pressured up (that whirring sound you hear for a few seconds) and kicked out like it is suppose to.

I have a 1990 GP and have the same problems, It doesnt happen all the time, but it seems to run for quite awhile after I shut off the car. But eventually it does shut off. I have noticed that the oil sending unit is now leaking alot of oil. Think replacing the sending unit might fix the fuel problem??
