no start - no check engine lightvincel3332000 06-14-2004, 09:14 PM I am having a problem with my 1988 Nissan Sentra. Battery is good for sure. Car will not turn over and I have no dash lights (headlights work fine). There is a clicking sound on the firewall and i hear the fuel pump. From what i have found it sounds like a relay, bad wire, bad fuse or something. What I need is for someone to give me whatever advice they can on this because the car was a good runner but not worth the cost the dealer wants to diagnose it. I have tried to check electrical diagrams on this but it might as well be in a foreign language. Hopefully someone out there has this car and has had the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. vincel3332000@yahoo.com Jon Arndt vincel3332000 07-01-2004, 12:47 PM still looking for advice on this Thank You Evo VII Lover 07-02-2004, 05:38 PM try www.thevboard.com or www.b15sentra.net youll get fast knowledge-able responses from those forums, and theres good FAQS there too. Hero_Of_The_Day 07-02-2004, 08:39 PM Dose it have spark? try taking a spark plug out still conected to the wire. turn the engin over e few times & look for sparks. you may want two people for this. Hows the fule presure? maybe the pump is only working patly or something is cloging the fule lines. also check your fule filter, it could be cloged. Are you sure about the batery? starting the car takes alot of juice. sometimes the lights will work but it still dose not have the power to start. The clicking sound could indicate that is the problem. Make sure the batery has a full charge. Check the conection where the power cable conects to the sylinoid. (hope I spelled that right) you may also want to have the altinator checked. If it is a electrical problem, I have no help to offer. I hope this helps you out. navy001 07-10-2004, 07:32 PM I am having a problem with my 1988 Nissan Sentra. Battery is good for sure. Very simple to unbolt, remove the wire and then get someone to look at the starter motor. blusir2k 08-01-2005, 02:12 PM I agree, starter motor is the clicking noise which you would not normally hear when the starter winds the motor over. All I did was unbolt my starter (Battery disconnected of course), connections and clean the connectors. Reconnected everything and it started right up. Hope this helps. Mykozo 08-01-2005, 05:11 PM Have you checked all of your fuses? If you have headlamps but no dash lights, something is not right with your electrical. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
