1986 Olds 98 won't start

Ihope I'm not repeating myself here. I recently removed an aftermarket alarm system on my 86 Olds 98. Before removing the unit I had no electrical power. Now the electrical is fine but the car won't start. If I spray starting fluid into it the car starts then stalls, which leads me to believe that it's a fuel problem. It's a 3.8l with fuel injection. On top of the engine, behind the fuel injectors is a pressure relief valve (similar to a valve stem on a tire) that releases gas when it is depressed. When I try to start the car, the pressure and gas build up again. I've checked the fuel pump fuse and it's fine. I had this same problem on an 86 F150 and it turned out to be a short in the inertia switch. Is there anything like that on this car? Could it be something electrical like the fuel pump not getting juice? Any suggestions?

Have you checked the ignition module and the coil pack?

Sorry about that. The fuse for the fuel pump or fuel filter. Weak fuel pump? Did you get gas when you turn the key on but not the engine and depressed the valve?
