I have done some tinting before and was thinking of doing the Grand Prix windows. How hard is the rear window? If the rear is hard then i thought maybe i could do the door windows and have a pro do the rear. There is an auction on ebay that the pieces are precut for the grand prix using Solar Gard brand tint. Should i or not?

I'm no expert, but I read that if you have the radio antenna laid in on the rearview windshield, you will need a non-conductive tint or it will cause problems with the electronics. This especially relates to the '04 GPs.

yeah i had professionals tint all my windows and i had the rear defrost/antenna back there too, they just popped the window out tinted it and put it back in. i never would have known it if i didn't ask them how'd they do such a damn good job tinting the back window.

they removed your whole rear window?? thats crazy it must have cost you a good deal. Mine are done with two pieces and and it looks seamless because it was overlapped on one of the defroster bars. i wasnt blessed with the rear window antenna though

yeah i didn't spare anything for it, got the full 20% all around with lifetime warranty for 250. i've used these people for all my tinting needs and i haven't found a better establishment since or bothered to look since, they are the best.

for 250 I doubt they popped the window out....
plus the fact that there is no need to pop it out...If they did that was pretty dumb

The rear window is not all that hard to do...WITH IT STILL IN THE CAR!

Just remove the seats and back cloths/cover...makes it 10x easier!

Would definitely recommend that you get it installed by a professional. I tried tinting windows, and it is harder than it looks.

But if you do do it yourself, make sure you get quality window film. It is also a waste of time if you find out that the window film you painstakingly applied to your car is bad quality and turns purple after a year.

Would definitely recommend you find out more information about the film you buy from these do-it-yourself tinting kits. There is a http://www.tintcenter.com site that should help you look up window film specs on popular car tint brands (http://www.tintcenter.com).
