there have been a couple of threads lately about people asking about their low mpg and i was wondering if their rides are lowered? i just lowered my car 2-inches,B+G springs and KYB struts, and i noticed my car's mpg dropped by two also(18-16mpg).

.....that should have no bearing on fuel economy.

I see bout the same as before lowering the car. I dont see how it would decrease mileage. You would think w/ the car lower to the ground that the drag would be less??

i was wondering Ripn, does your car feel any different when you accelerate out of a corner. sometimes when i accelerate out of a corner i feel a slight shake coming from the front end(almost feels like wheel hop but not as bad).

My car vibrates noticably to 20 mph and then goes away. I added a strut tower bar and it helped. My car is probably lower then yours so it might be worse on my car. It has something to do w/ the axles not liking the new angle.

well its pretty close to yours, i think yours is about half inch lower up front, but anyways i was thinking maybe it was because(the lower mpg) the battery was diconnected all night and the computer has to relearn.

That could be it. Or if your like me you like tearing up the corners so much more now that the pedal is getting used too much. :)

i couldn't because it was raining the first couple of days after it was lowered, it always happens to me get a mod done and it f**#ing rains. so i was thinking after couple of tanks of gas maybe the mpg will go up a little.

I have installed Eibacks but kept the struts that I had and the ride lowered like 1.5" on all corners and the mileage has not dropped a bit.
I did the antipogo trick depicted on http://www.clubgp.com and the ride is really acceptable. I do feel the shaking when pushing the car hard from a dead stop. If I am already rolling and jam the pedal to the metal then vibration is not there, the vibration comes in when I accelerate hard from dead stop.
Is there an alternative to the KYB and Tokicos? I have used Gabriel's on my 69 Chevelle and they worked great. Have any of you tried them on your GP's? I do not like monrows a bit, are there other alternatives?

riping 12's wouldnt a simple wheel alignment fix your car if some things not runnig smoothly its proly going to stress some thing out in the front of your car if its lowered id definatly get it aligned and if not u could wreck tires, u prolly knew all that but hey figured id put that up

sweet looking GP too, should paint them stock wheels black if your going to keep them i like the low black look. what do u think about gunmetal grey for my 1995 GTP ?

i had both front and back aligned when i installed my setup and still have the shimy. has to be with the cv joints or maybe the wheel bearings not liking the new angles. but have to say car takes the corners like a champ.

most likely the angle between the axles and the tires like akwe-gt said...cv joints...my car is not lower but i packed 8 people in the car one time and since it was lower from all the weight i noticed a shake around 15 and 45. I actually bent my mufflers that night going over a speedbump do you guys have that problem with your lower rides?
