Fuel injectors

2004GTP = 31lb injectors :(

97-03GTP= 36lb injectors

Why would GM reduce the flow of their fuel injectors from 36 to 31lbs?
Would an improved pump and fuel delivery system allow for lower flowing injectors? I don't get it.

Rippin12s you ran 12s on stock injectors right?
I want some 97-03 injectors! Anyone know how to get them cheap?

12.9 @105 on stock injectors and stock pump.

Are injectors going static?? If they are not then there is no reason to get bigger injectors.

Well I have OEM pump and injectors but are looking for increased fuel flow(at least a little). I ran into this site: http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_SetsTPI.asp They have good prices

30 lb/hr:60 hp per cylinder or 360 hp
35 lb/hr:70 hp per cylinder or 420 hp
maybe they increased the fuel pressure(stronger pump or different regulator) allowing to use smaller injector?

That is a possibility according to the guys on clubgp. Still waiting on somebody to check the FP at WOT.

Supposedly the baseline for the 97-03s was 52PSI and there has been one 04GP to test FP at idle and it was 56-57PSI. I am not sure yet if that means the pressure has been increased, but it looks that way.

Why else would GM reduce the flow of the fuel injectors if there wasn't some other part of the fuel delivery system that was altered to compensate for this reduction? Anyways thats what I would guess, hopefully we will know soon.
