rain leaking in

I've been having a problem with rain coming in through the front of my '97 Trans Sport for a long time. The dealer's service writer hadn't ever heard of it. Amazing isn't it? I know from other forums that this is a common problem with these vans. I tried to locate the area where the water is coming but to no avail. The odor is getting pretty bad even though I pulled out the drain plugs. Has anyone ever found where the water comes in on these vans?

I have a 2000 Montana with water on the front floor also. I have pretty well convinced myself that it is the AC condensate tray overflowing......so I am tracking that down. Are you sure it is rain water and not AC condensate??

Yes. The floor always gets wet after a hard rain. Stays dry when it doesn't rain. I've spent a lot of time trying to locate where the water comes in and even put some rtv between the sheetmetal of the firewall and the aft side of the air intake on both sides but it didn't help. I also made sure that the evaporator and air intake drains aren't clogged. It's real hard to get to any of those places. Pretty frustrating. That's why I would like to have it addressed by a shop that has experience with this problem. Seems like someone would have by now. I know there are sonic leak detectors that can be used to find air leaks by putting a tone generator inside (or on one side) of something and using a very sensitive microphone and headset to listen for the tone generated. We use them on airplanes to find leaks but I don't have access to one right now. I think I will pursue that though because it can really make finding a leak easier.

Have a look at this post: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=375886

Is this a possibility?

Thanks 1999 Montana for the info. I will check the windshield as soon as I can. I've checked the sides but not the top. I will probably remove the headliner to do this.
