1994 3.0 taurus gas tanksMARTIN KORDOS 06-09-2004, 09:35 PM coul any one tell me how to drain a tank without droping it damageing it or syponing it . selling the car but dont want to lose a full tank of gas. ttheres a screen at the bottom of the filler tube so cant sypone it . pissed of in canada. sahib 06-10-2004, 06:44 AM Are you sure there's a filter on the end of the filler tube? There's one on the end of the fuel pump pick-up tube but have never seen one on the filler tube. Syphoning is the only way I'd know how to drain tank or hot wiring around fuel pump relay and letting pump evacuate the tank. Other than that I guess the tank drop is all that's left. Whew! Lottsa work for little gain and can be dangerous too. MARTIN KORDOS 06-10-2004, 09:21 AM how do i hotwire around fuel pump relay? sahib 06-10-2004, 09:39 AM I believe you can go to the inertia switch, located in the trunk (driver side), usually, and attach a fused, prefferably, jumper to one of the leads. If you pull the switch you'll have to connect it to the lead going to the pump. I think this should do it, but not certain. I don't know if key will have to be on during procedure or not. Not sure if ground is present at all times to complete circuit through pump. Your jumper would have to be to + battery. Be careful. Good luck. Give a post back as to how or if it works. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
