Hey, I just got this car (1990 Accord LX) and when I try to shift into or out of park the shifter freezes up. Anyone had this problem? More importantly, anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Any help would be great. Thanks! ~* Cat *~

Bad shifter cable. A little expensive to get replaced, but it's almost certainly the problem.

May also need adjusted. Either way, if you replace or adjust, buy a haines manual on the car. It gives a decent description on how to do it

sounds like a bad cable. they are the most common problem. another theory would be spilled coffe in the shifter but 99% sure its the cable.
