Can't find VSS on 97 taurusmxz600 06-08-2004, 10:08 AM Can someone point me in the right direction. I looked on the top of the trans/drivers side/by the rear exhaust manifold/but can't find a 2 wire connector that goes into the trans? Someone got a map that this idiot can follow? I was told it is under a heat shield but there is no heat shield, a picture of the little bugger would be great help too? Thanks in advance, Jay zoey 06-08-2004, 08:44 PM Have a look at Willboy's post, I think you will find all the information there. mxz600 06-09-2004, 06:18 AM I tried that, but still can't find any heat shield or 2 wire connector, or 8mm retaining bolt? I need more help. Thanks. Jay mxz600 06-14-2004, 07:36 AM Check ou tthe 2 pics in my gallery!!! Please, anyone, tell me if this is the vehicle speed sensor(VSS)? I have to get this thing running soon, I need it for my backup car. Jay mxz600 06-22-2004, 08:12 AM Okay, I figures out where the VSS is, now I have the 8mm bolt out, but can't get the sensor to slide out of the trans. Any ideas? I have been using a long crowbar, prying on it, but I don't want to break the plastic. Help!!!! Please !!!! mxz600 07-15-2004, 02:33 PM Took it to a guy and he did it for 200 bucks.
