engine cutting outyezek6 06-07-2004, 04:56 PM 1995 dodge caravan 3.0L its more noticeable durring steady speeds and durring shift points and durring take off. does anyone have any ideas what this problem is? fadelu 06-08-2004, 11:47 AM You have to have the error code read before you start doing anything. The speeds are electronicaly controlled. It could be a faulty fuel pump or any component with the air fuel mix yezek6 06-08-2004, 12:09 PM but if there was a error code would the check engine lite come on? slantsixness 06-09-2004, 01:13 PM the check engine light doesn't come on until the ECM is in "limp-home" mode. Check your ECM codes: http://www.allpar.com/fix/80s-codes.html I know it says 80's, but the newer ones are linked there too...and they're not much different. You may just need a tune up, or the EGR valve is bad. Hard to tell for sure without the codes. Slantsixness yezek6 06-09-2004, 08:18 PM it showed a code 55 slantsixness 06-10-2004, 08:49 AM 55 is normal. Probably a good tune up and injector cleaning will fix it, or your ignition wires/distributor cap and rotor is/ are bad. They're cheap enough, just replace them with the tune-up. If you don't want to spend $ on injector cleaning, then buy a good bottle of cleaner (in the tank) and run a tank of premium through it and see if that helps.
