I figured i would get some opinions on what type of oil i should use in my 97 civic ex with 115K??? Synthetic or Conventional??? Ive heard honda says to use 5w20 but i dont know. Also, what is the word on things like Dura Lube, z max and all the other "super lubricants?"

Also, is there a brand to go with or stay away from ???

5w20 is the oil they are using on newer civics, that come with a different oil filter as well. stick to 5w30 on your civic, as for synthetic or conventional, i think its preference more then a fact. if you change your oil regularly it kinda defeats teh purpose of an oil the resists break down since you change it well before it gets a chance.
i work at a honda dealership and get oils cheap so i just run regular 5w30 conventional petro canada oil, change it everything 4wks regardless of how few miles i do.
