Battery placement concern

Just wondering...I just bought a new 2004 Deville and in reading the manual, noticed that the battery is under the rear seat! I was very surprised, as the last car I owned was a '62 Volkswagen Bug that had a battery placed there.

Question is, has anyone had any problems with this? Also any hints or clues as to checking to see if corrosion is forming or other items to stay on 'top' of.

Thanks very much and I'm new to this forum, so excuse any errors in posting.

Thank you,

No problems at all. Many Audi cars have the same feature.
Just be sure to replace the battery cover and seat properly and carefully if you inspect the battery, so the battery does not vent into the passenger compartment.
If you replace the battery, make sure you use the same size and type of battery.
If you need to jump start the car, there should be a positive and negative jump start terminals on the engine. You don't need to remove the seat and jump right to the battery.
