1990-Splutters when shifting into Drive

I have a 1990 Buick Century. The engine purrs when idling, but splutters and jerks when putting into drive or reverse or neutral. It barely moves. Replaced the fuel filter, no joy. I'm praying it's not the transmission.

I pulled up to a stop light, and it seems as though I ran out of gas. Wouldn't start. I put it in neutral and rolled it off the road. Put gas in it (about 1.5 gallons) She started, and moved, but wouldn't go more than 2 miles an hour, spluttering and coughing the whole time. She moved ok, just very slow and very spluttery. Like I said, she idles fine. I towed her home. Disconnected the Transmission lock thing, no change.

Here's the rest of the story. She has 210 thousand miles. She was perfectly fine up until that point. no noise shifting, nothing. I really love this car, and I'm looking for any ideas as to what it could be.

Thanks.

Possibly:

Spark Plugs/Wires
Fuel Filter
Fuel Injectors
Coil Pack

I'm happy to see that transmission is not in your suggestions. I've just had it towed to a shop, so I'll close this post. Thank you.

Sounds like what happened with ours...but it was missing mounts too...not quite sure what ANY of that means!

I also have a 1990 Buick Century. Good luck!
