transmision & speedommeter ploblemserafin007 06-02-2004, 09:38 AM I have a 1999 AWD town contry 3.8 engine, suddenly my servise engine light came on and then I notice tha my speedommeter wasn't working and it diren't want to change like to (3) third gear to go faster. is going reverse and forward, but if I want to go faster it wont change the higher gears, somebody is telling me it could be the governor sensor,is this sensor works for both things the speedommeter and the transmision? or is posible tha is two sensors for speedometer and transmision.any help please. thank you in advanse or write to solomax7@aol.com dmburrows 06-03-2004, 12:28 AM This does sound like a speed sensor. I have an intrepid and the exact same thing happened. serafin007 06-04-2004, 08:28 AM thanks dmburrows for the help.it is a sensor on the transmision but, is not the speed sensor, for those with the same car,and the same problem is the output transmision sensor,is two of them that look alike side by side so be carefull when you change them.or just change both of them,it cost me $27.00 on the dealer and tha was the problem, everythin back to normal, thank again for the reply dmburrows. StanfordKid 08-11-2004, 07:27 PM I think I'm having the same problem--the speedo is bouncing around erratically. It's at the dealer now... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
