Ya I'd say if you got rid of that front bumber and replaced it with something more boxy like the other 2 pieces I'd say it would be a pretty sweet ride, but then again thats just me, i'm into the more boxy body kits. Oh and dump the altezza's. I'm not really diggin the white rims on silver but its all about flavor, i woulda gone with gunmetal myself, but again just me. Not too bad though.

:grinno: "WHEW!"
someone caught that..

"TRICKED out"

that's silly/ =D

BTW. It's all about preference so I think it's very commendable as long as it's your style. I, on the other hand, would never do that to a car. Good Luck, Man.

Tried to use k'nex pieces with lego pieces. Not compatible. The car just looks...... bleh.... :bloated: :puke: the blue under the hood looks funny as hell. The rear bumper is the only thing I like on that car. Fish transformer is well said :-)

Ok, now that i've finished vomiting, i have a suggestion. When winter comes and the ground is covered in snow, slam the car and use the front end as a snowplow.
I mean, it looks like you got a JC Whitney catalog in the mail and just went hog wild on their 'Everything Must Go -- 2 Fast 2 Furious Sale'.

Think that's bad? I drove past a guy a couple of days ago who had a windshield banner of his own name. EDUARDO, in big white letters. I had to point and laugh, i just couldn't help it.

You could try trickin' out the engine. Somethin's gotta pull that load of crap around.

Work from the OUTSIDE in, Not the INSIDE out.

Wow. A blitz body kit, white wheels, altezzas, GTO headlight covers, Z3 fenders, M3 mirrors, and wicked cool side skirts. I have never EVER seen a car even remotely like this before, it's so original and unique, I have to applaud you. Congratulations on the hot ride! :bigthumb:

I see someone hasn't figured out most on this site respect performance over looks. In general, braggin on how hot your ride is and how pimp and trick it is won't win you any friends on here.

I think the car has a lot of different styles that clash together. Not to bash your car or anything, but for example the grill in between the headlights needs to be larger to give it some balance. In combination with those headlights, they look like they are buldging out. I would also suggest slimming down the front bumper, the lines make the overall shape of the car awkward.

I do like your ground effects though, blue is beautiful :)

ill coment on this again. after closely looking over it theres a couple of things wrong with it. it needs to be lowered asap. the rims dont really go with the back bumper or the side skirts. the front headlights dont belong and definitely the front bumper. so the first thing to do is change the front bumper, lower it, then get some rims. and then think about turboing it

sageuvagony
06-18-2004, 02:25 AM
Or you could just get another civic and start over :p :naughty:

I seen there are a lot of hatters.. Some of you said lower I live in Pa and the roads here suck. The body is too low allready I could hardly drive it before without scraping (couden't pull up my driveway...) thats why I have the 17" on there also I thought i would get some more helpfull comments then the ones I am receiveing...

Okay, I am trying to be nice and helpful here, so don't think I am hating. First off, your thread title didn't help your cause. It sounded like you were trying to brag on how hot your ride is, and that simply don't go over well here.

I mean, the title "96 civic tricked out soon to be turbo (what u think)" sounds like you think it's dope, and you want to know what people think. That's exactly how they responded, tell you what they thought (for better or worse). A thread title that explained your goals or fit the golas of the thread better would have helps, and then explaining what you were looking for in the thread better would help too.

Next, some of the comments were helpful. Maybe lowering it does make it hard to drive in your area, but we don't know that. The fact is, lowering it is needed, from a look standpoint...a lot. Lowering it right also will improve handling. That is a helpful comment, maybe it isn't a viable option for you, but in most cases it is helpful advice. Next forget the fact they are 17's...the wheels just don't flow with the overall theme of the car. It looks like parts thrown on and bolted toghter, not like a flowing packagde. Different rims that fit the look better would help too. 18's my rise the height a tad...I have seen that occur before.

Now, the headlights...that cover don't look to good. It just detracts from the look of the car...it doesn't flow...it stands out individually, detracting from everything else. New headlights or loosing the cover will help the front end flow MUCH better. Remember, a car where the lines flow looks better than one where the ones look like individual parts bolted on.

No matter what, these 3 things will help the looks, regardless...and are ment to be helpful comments and not bashing.

Now I am going to get a little more in-detph in my critice. The back bumper...I realize the back bumper has "dual exhuast slots"..however, dual exhuast on a 4-banger is a waste of money...it won't add any powewr, it anything it will take awhile a little bit. Now, I realize from a look standpoint, leaving the hole open is eqaully as bad. It leaves an open spot and looks like crap. I think of it as a "loose loose" situation with that bumper, and that is why I aviod bumpers like that. Just food for a thought.

Now, the front bumper does seem to sick out a lot, espiecally at the bottem. A different bumper that didn't have that design would have solved that, but I am going to guess your going to say "I already have i, so I am sticking with it (for the back bumper too). In that case, fixing the front headlight issue will help a little, as it makes the front end look (for lack of a better word) tacky. Now, wheels that look better and flow better design and color wise will help out a lot also, and lowering it will help tighten up the overall look. If nothing else is done, those 3 things will help make the cars likes flow better than they currently do, even if it doesn't flow as well as some members would like.

That's my take on the car, that's my 2 cents :2cents:, take it or leave it. I hope it provided a little helpful insite.

Well, I understand about not having money to do all that. Anyways, I hope my insite was helpful, I tried to explain the reasons for my thoughts. I tried to make it be helpful versus "hating."

I only started messing around with my '97 EX a few months ago, so I'm no pro. I don't know that much about 17" rims or what brand of bumper is cool. Mine looks mostly stock from the outside (except for the tail pipe for my sport exhaust and a set of 14" Honda rims).
If you want advice, one pretty easy thing you can do to bring it together under the hood would be to paint the whole engine or at least the valve cover to match the rest of the blue stuff you have under there. I have blue stuff too. Started with the intake and I liked the chrome and blue combination. But the first thing everyone notices when you pop the hood is the engine. I went with blue ceramic paint, but kind of the opposite of yours - all blue with plain polished lettering. It covers 99% of the old stains and scuffs and it gives everything else under there a good center. Makes it seem like all the wires and stuff are SUPPOSED to be blue. (Just make sure you mask everything else from the overspray). The difference it will make will be well worth the $8 for the paint.
Can't help with the body. Like I said, mine is mostly stock. It's not my style, but I can certainly appreciate the time, effort, and money you've put into it.
