I am not very mechanically inclined on the 87 k5 Blazer, as I just bought it. I took it on a long trip and when I pulled over to get gas, the engine was ticking. I think it got hot, but the gauge was reading 180. I changed the temp sensor on the intake, and also put a 160 degree thermostat in it. The radiator is new along with the water pump. Is their anything else I need to do to make sure I am getting a correct temp reading? The oil gauge is also pegged out when I crank it up. They say the oil sending unit needs to be replaced. Is that the case, and where can I find it? I do not see one near the distributor, and found one (which I think is it) above the oil filter. I unplugged it, and the gauge still pegged. I just want an accurate temp and oil gauge reading on this thing! The gas pedal is hard to push, and the A/C compresoor makes a grinding noise at idle speed only. Any solutions? What do I need to change, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If i were you I would invest in manual gauges. They work directly off of the sensor and you don't have to worry about electrical malfunctions. And with your gas pedal check your return spring it could be hooked up on something causing your pedal to stick.
