sup every1, chillen here...what would you do with 5k on a lancer evo?
check this, when the evo finally comes here: spend bout 2k on engine upgrades, full catback, headers, then tint the windows, dont really need any aero dynamic upgrades, so prob get a nice set of 18" rims, and drop the car, or keep the rims and get air ride..damn i cant wait till the evo vii gets here..

Boost gauage, intake, exhaust, headers, chip, nice rims/wheels, if the bov doesn't already make that pfsss<--with the sizzling effect, change it to that.

yea, i cant wait untill the lancer gets its ass over here..is it true that each dealer in the US will only recieve 20 lancers? i am going to put in my deposit in the summer, i want to wait and see how the nissan Z does, that car looks really nice..tell me what u think..
rsx type S
lancer evo vii
nissan 350z
or the wrx sti
personally i want the lancer, but its specs keeps gettin changed, and its being delayed, the sti looks ugly, the nissan z is rear wheel only, and i want a car i can drive all year..damn

ummmm, no headers. do you mean downpipe? Personally I would get an intake, exhaust, BOV, a strut brace, an intercooler upgrade, a boost controller, and a mild sound system.

and there are very few dealer that are going to get 20 lancers. if there are any dealers that get 20 lancers. look for each dealer to get about 2 for a first shipment.

With 5K??
1) de-cated exhaustsystem (3")
2) air intake
3) gauges
4) ECU remap
5) ARP bolts + new fuelpump

That would add up to 5K I think.

To spend more.... think about suspension, brakes, engine work, MOTEC etc.

Altezza Lights every where, HONDA BODY KIT, coffee can sized muffler, detune the engine to go fast as a civic. racing decals

Just kidding. :)

I dunno....I'm kind of new into cars(I just got into them this summer) what are some good parts for 'em?

i think the evo is the best (but i am biased hehe). the wrx sucks ass so unless they go crazy to make sure the sti is better (which they probably wont) it will probably be as crappy as the wrx. the 350z is pretty fucking cool but i dont know... i just have this thing for the evo :D as for the rsx type s, i liked it at first and i still do but i think its kinda girly (sorry if you have one) i dont know exactly what it is about it, but it just looks like a girl car to me. it was one of the cars i considered buying until i heard about the evo. in my mind, no car can beat the evo. its perfect :)

Hey there sista girl i love the evolutions as much as the next guy i have seen them in jamaica like crazy when i used to live there, but for you to sit there and say the impreza sucks ass!! You are talkin out your ass give the car its respect because if it weren t for subaru having the nuts that mitsu didn t have you wouldn t be seeing any evo s. The impreza will always be a legend.

i am just stating my opinion. i have seen firsthand the problems a lot of people i know have had with the wrx and in my mind it is poorly made. i doubt the subaru people are going to try to work out the kinks with it and the sti will probably come out the same way. and as for us not seeing the evo, i think we would have eventually seen it sooner or later regardless of the wrx because of the huge import market the u.s. has. all i think the wrx did was show mitsu that they better not put out a shitty car and thats why they are trying to work the kinks out with the evo. personally i dont like subarus. i think they are ugly and as for the wrx, unreliable. give me an evo anyday. oh and if you wanna talk about how great the wrx is, you are in the wrong forum. try

good call evochica. I think the wrx could have been a nice car, if they did something with the front end, as well as the sides. Ruined it. Otherwise its an ok car.

5k with a brand new evo 7?

I would buy a class at the best racing school i could afford for 5k.

then school everybody

ResidentEVO that is a good call. I'd do the same, why get a car and not know its full potential. Get into a school, and get really intouch with your car.

For the person who said get a BOV for an EVO... no way, BOV are for WRX's to make them sound like there something.. You need a quiet EVO that will eat anything at the lights!

First off what problems do u speak of i have a wrx and i know at least five people that have one as well and i don t know of any reliability problems and my best friend dogs the shit out of his. thats how i know you are talking out your ass. How the hell can you even speak about reliability and you are for the evo. they are known for giving problems and wrxs are known to be bulletproof and reliable. You need to travel over seas and get first hand experience before you sit there and make yourself look foolish by making silly ass comments. Don t always listen to people on this forum who probably have never seen any of the legendary jap cars in real life. Go and see the light. Now if the evo would have been released in the states the same time that the wrx did i prob would have gotten an evo so i am in no way biased i like the evos better. so all i am sayin is to give props where props is due. because mitsu would not have brought it over without the subaru doing it first and having successful sales figures. Face the facts shortie.

Just have to respond to the 2 quotes above.

1) I'm not really impressed by all the US guys trying to modify their WRX and the way it is done. This has nothing to do with the car, but says all about the people. I am 100% sure that once the EVO hits the US shore, you'll see the same amount of failure rate.

2) As for uglyness. I rather see the new type WRX then an EVO VII.

Lucky me I have the best of both worlds (MY99 GTturbo & EVO VI)

I seriously have no clue why you two are even comparing the WRX and the EVO to each other....they're not even in the same class. If you wanna compare two cars compare the STI and the EVO.

As far as arguments go....this one needs to stop. One person's going to say the STI sucks ass, and the other is going to say the EVO sucks ass. I for one think neither suck. I just like the syling/handling/power of the Evo A LOT more.

Let's try not to get into this argument, it could go on for days w/o a resolution and with you both being pissed off at each other. I really don't want this to end up looking like one of the fights over at i-club where you get your head torn off just because you like the Evo more than the STI. The STI and the EVO are both really sweet cars....it's all a matter of personal preference.

The main problem here is that WRX STI for LHD is over 40K that is US dollars:mad: which really sucks... Subarus are very reliable and anyone who has had one will tell you... Anyway, I will go for the beast... The EVO VII of course.... however would not mind a STI WRX... still good enough:sun:

As far as the subaru evo debate goes....I love subaru and have loved them for a long long time....had they not changed the design I would own a wrx....but man what were they thinking? Those things are sick and everone knows it......its horrible! Now that we are sure the EVO is coming.....I'll have one.

Now with 5k...Exhaust, ECU tuning, Upgraded fuel system, After market Ignition (so i can up my boost alot and still have a good A/F ratio so i dont detonate)Turbo timer. Then I like the idea of the driving classes. Very good idea.

what would the best bet be, to increase horses and torque, with the cheapest amount of money? i dont know if i want to even upgrade anything thing with the engine of the evo, it can and will toast most normal cars on the US...but we'll see...i seriously cant wait untill the evo gets here, i am a little dissapointed though, when they changed the release from fall to next spring...oh well..

boost controller is a very valuable asset and very inexpensive, but than again it would be best to do exhaust work too.

WHOA FREAK! chill the fuck out. first of all, just because i dont like the wrx, dont take it personally. its not like i said, hey man i hate your grandma or something. so chill. as i said, it was MY OPINION. i didnt say it was the word of god or anything. people get so friggin excited over stupid crap.... all i said was that i know of a lot of people personally (not over the forum) that have problems with their wrxs. it seems to be more the us version than the foreign version but what do you expect, its the us version haha. i didnt say the evos were perfect either, i just would prefer one to the wrx. as for my comments being silly, if you dont like them, DONT READ THEM. and dont lower yourself to my level by responding to them if they bother you so much. and if you want to sing the praises of the wrx, you know where to go. you wanna talk about evo greatness? you're in the right place. i am not going to argue further with you because personally i have better things to do with my life but if you dont than i pity you. thanks for sharing. buh bye now.

oh and by the way, in case you couldnt tell by the name, im a CHICA not a shortie. :right:

hey guys if you are looking for an awesome racing school, try skip barber. i have a friend who races for bmw and he went there and he said it was really good. i've heard its the best school in the country. i am gonna try to get in eventually but its pretty expensive and i want my evo first lol. :D

first off, $5 grand:

turbo back exhaust
tint
mild sound system
boost controller
ECU chip

next: can you put a blow off valve on the Evo VII? i read the PDF from mitsu and it says the turbo has a gas recirculation system to prevent flowback from entering the turbo (like audi has). this is what a blow off valve normally does, and you can't put a blow off valve on audi's turbo.

as for the STI, japanese price is $35-45 grand. so if you can JUST afford an Evo, you can't afford an STI.
