What happens if you get caught with illiegal mods on your car in the us?corolla99 05-29-2004, 10:34 AM What happens if you get caught with illiegal mods on your car in the us? sr20de4evr 05-29-2004, 02:03 PM What do you mean? If you're in cali they'll give you a ticket, if you're in just about any other state in the US they don't care as long as you have a current inspection sticker. corolla99 05-29-2004, 03:17 PM well right now i have a corolla but when im 18 which anit long im trading it and using the 11 grand i got and the other money i saved up and buying ether a acura rsx type s or nissan sentra spec v and if i get illegal mods on it and racing stuff what happens if i get caught (massachusetts) BLU CIVIC 05-29-2004, 03:24 PM i was in va beach and got pulled over...they found out i had coilovers (adjustable suspension is illegal in va beach :eek7: ) and gave me a ticket....had to go to court and show proof that it was removed....i think that is about the jest of any illegal mod...go to court...show proof itz removed and pay fine sr20de4evr 05-29-2004, 03:56 PM well right now i have a corolla but when im 18 which anit long im trading it and using the 11 grand i got and the other money i saved up and buying ether a acura rsx type s or nissan sentra spec v and if i get illegal mods on it and racing stuff what happens if i get caught (massachusetts) Depends on where you live For "illegal" mods, you just get a fix it ticket, but in many states there are no illegal mods and they just don't care (florida, some parts of georgia, etc). For racing all sorts of things can happen. Suspended license, impounded car, HUGE fines, etc BLU CIVIC 05-29-2004, 04:05 PM also depends on the city where u live...the ticket i got was a va beach law...not a va law...most of the time u won't have a problem until inspection time corolla99 05-29-2004, 11:24 PM man cops are so gay the oother day they just randomly asked me and all my friends for are license and registration because we were in a parking lot talking chris0276 05-30-2004, 02:13 PM Everything in California is illegal!!! Even tinted windows, light tinted windows. I have to get them removed and have my car inspected. Cops here are really cracking down on illegal mods, no matter how minor it is. Aequitas 05-30-2004, 06:11 PM where in california are you? I have tinted windows on my truck,as does my step dad on his, and even my mom on her monte carlo. chris0276 05-30-2004, 07:30 PM I'm in L.A. shortysdrop 05-31-2004, 10:38 PM I've heard of cops pulling L.E.D. wiper squirters, tint, and a guy I bought a car dolly from said his friend got his car impounded for having a radar detecter. Most of the time its fix-it tickets but it depends on where you live and how bad the offense. My dad got pulled over in my truck for having a red tag light, he just got a warning. HoloSkull 06-01-2004, 02:21 AM Just in case I go traveling I have all my LEDs on switches. Those a$$es won't catch me. hehe shortysdrop 06-01-2004, 03:28 PM Just in case I go traveling I have all my LEDs on switches. Those a$$es won't catch me. hehe Same here, all neon, amps, and monitors should be hooked to switches. Mine are and I haven't had a related ticket in over 4yrs. Keep the cops in check at the flick of a switch. : ) muphasta 06-02-2004, 06:10 PM If you are just turning 18 and getting a newer car, the insurance will be a bigger problem than the mods. Not sure if you know this or not, but in most cases, a 2 door car's insurance is much higher than a 4 door. corolla99 06-02-2004, 09:49 PM If you are just turning 18 and getting a newer car, the insurance will be a bigger problem than the mods. Not sure if you know this or not, but in most cases, a 2 door car's insurance is much higher than a 4 door. why? thats so gay the color affects the insurance to i mean having your license kinda sucks so many gay rules and insurance is so high Aequitas 06-03-2004, 12:51 AM you should have a mommy like me to pay half the insurance :) BeigeMaxima 06-03-2004, 11:51 AM you should have a mommy like me to pay half the insurance :) You lucky... corolla99 06-03-2004, 01:09 PM you should have a mommy like me to pay half the insurance :) well she did pay the first big chunk of it for a b day present but after that im on my own and i just got a speeding ticket so its going to be going up which is kinda stupid cause around here if you crash as long as the damage is under a thousand your insurance goes up less then half of what you would pay if you were to get pulled over for speeding thats pretty gay shortysdrop 06-04-2004, 03:01 PM My insurance is under my parents for now. It saves me a helluva lot of money. Especially on 3 cars. I swear my insurance agent is on crack though, he's changed the policy on my truck about 4 times in less than a year. If I make an insurance payment in his office it gets cancelled within a week. He doesn't get it sent to the main office in time and my insurance gets cancelled. My advice make sure you have a rock solid insurance company, especially at 18. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
