Turn >Rain> SlippedMexSiR 05-27-2004, 11:20 AM Saturday Night I was driving out of my house to go to party. Theres an elevated bridge you go over it and while going down the road turns into a U turn going down hill. This is to go to the street that is perpendicular to the elevated bridge. Since I always go out of it, I have lots of experience in that turn and my car is always going fast and sometimes skidding moderately. Theres a point in the turn were it actually heavily oversteers and I had to do a rally style turn (opposing the steering wheel) to prevent my car to collide in the middle dividing thing. Saturday night it rained heavily (something im not used to, Im in Mexico) I was going in that turn at a normal speed, perhaphs a little fast but I knew it was dangerous with rain. In the sharpest angle of the turn my car suddenly lost grip, complete grip, I skidded and hit the side dividing bar which is around 13 inches and jumped over it. I did not brake cause i knew it was worse. My car was on the other side of the road so a car couldve come and hit me head to head. So in order to prevent this I went over the dividing thing again purposely. Nothing happened to the body, but of course my two remaining neon bars were destroyed...(the other two broke during the racing incident) I parked on the side of the highway and ripped them off throwing them at the wall. A hanging loose clinging metal kinda sound is now noticed when I drive. I look under the carand theres nothing. I have no money so I cant take it to Honda to fix. Damn! Ace$nyper 05-27-2004, 11:53 AM damn man thats some crummy luck. Least your OK. Is your aligment OK after that. your stories are always crazy man. XixGenuinexiX 05-27-2004, 02:22 PM Your stories are always crazy and stupid, if it was anyone else you'd be laughed at. But no sense, your MexSIR everyone praises you. That was one of the dumbest things ever. You put you and other's in danger. Also how in the .... is that luck. Anyone w/ common sense knows to take a turn especially a sharp U slowly in the rain. But i guess all is ok sense your ok, and you didn't harm others. pizzaman 05-27-2004, 08:09 PM Sorry to hear about your car but i'm glad you are alright. carrrnuttt 05-27-2004, 08:59 PM At least your car still runs, and you're in one piece. Count yourself lucky. About your light bars...maybe God is telling you something? :) (maybe God is saying: a. slow-down, and/or b. no rice for you! http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/tongue.gif) SiGNAL748 05-27-2004, 10:11 PM If i were you, i'd go get my alignment checked MexSiR 05-28-2004, 01:31 AM XixGenuinexiX - I was not going fast man! As you may have read. If i was going fast i wouldve gone to the other lane and hit the side bar. I was going around 25-30 mph tops. And its a huge U turn, its around 300 ft or so...I can maybe take pictures of the turn since its outside my house and show you... MexSiR 05-28-2004, 01:34 AM And I dont see how it was dumb. I was just driving normally, slower than when the pavement is dry. When the pavement is dry I know exactly what my car can handle. But in the rain..it just sliped... pizzaman 05-28-2004, 01:53 AM Hey MexSiR don't worry about it. There will always be those who assume the worse and try to make you look bad. It makes them feel better about themselves if they can bring you down to their level. They are the ones who ruin good forums. Ya but you have never done anything "not so smart" in your car... driving drunk is one thing. but shit happens ... unless your a professional driver that drives VERY CAUTIOUSLY you put people at risk aswell. Hell driving with Fairly bald tires is a risk but thats why we have insurance.. Once you pull out of that drive way and get on the road that is the risk you take. YOUNGSTER 05-28-2004, 03:31 AM i think we can all say that we have done some stupid shit lol atleast your ok i just did something stupid blew my tranny coming back from the lake and i had my freind push my car with her car (damn women drivers) and pushed my back bumber in i had to cause i have no money for a tow truck and im broke so i was stuck. so i feel the bad luck too lol hey was there alot of damage or did it just mess up your side skirt your lucky your car isnt lowered lol or is it? YOUNGSTER 05-28-2004, 03:33 AM damn us mexicans always doing some stupid shit jk MexSiR 05-28-2004, 01:14 PM Lol. No no body was messed up, it looks perfectly fine. Yes I do stupid shit sometimes but I know how to drive when I do that stupid shit. Lots of people do stupid shit with no experience whatsoever...I just dont have experience in the rain...hahaha XixGenuinexiX 05-28-2004, 07:21 PM i don't know how to quote but here.. "I was going in that turn at a normal speed, perhaphs a little fast but I knew it was dangerous with rain. In the sharpest angle of the turn my car suddenly lost grip, complete grip, I skidded and hit the side dividing bar which is around 13 inches and jumped over it." If i read correctly you said you were going faster than normal, and that you knew it was dangerous yet you still did it. That my friend is stupid. MexSiR 05-28-2004, 08:37 PM Not faster than normal. Normally my car can go 45 mph without skidding. I was going 25-30 mph. But yeah a little fast for the rain but i thought my car could handle it...guess it didnt... Big_Chad3 06-05-2004, 04:12 AM when I was 16 I had a 92 Camaro (I know) that I loved dearly anyway but one snowy night I slid it around an icy bend and slammed it into a 5-inch curb. I didn't need to check the alignment...because I hit so hard the rear axle broke and the wheel broke off. I was super bummed, but I guess it's a miracle I didn't get hurt. Oh well. YellowITR479 06-06-2004, 01:24 PM At least your ok. I remeber flipping my R in an closed industrial park when everyone goes to race...was like 1 min from my house. I wasnt as fortunate as you though. MexSiR 06-06-2004, 08:46 PM How did you flip it? Damn, good thing your ok man. Not like that fu*king video were the kid jumps with his Type R and he flips and dies. YellowITR479 06-07-2004, 12:32 AM I have seen that video and my accident was just like it. I was going about 120 with bald rear potenzas, this park has 1/8 mile starights with opposite 45 degree turns...I hit the first turn and didnt cut it in enough and kinda oversteered to the edge of the pavement when the rear tires broke loose, cops say I skidded for like 300 feet when I crossed the other side of the road right into the woods, then my car smashed two trees and started to do some barrel rolls, I which I got ejected out the rear window (sware on my soul), cops knew it was the rear window cause there was a streak of blood all the way down the headliner and there was blood on my spoiler (plus I had a shit load of microdot glass from the back window stuck in my dome) and I ended up like 50 feet from my car on my back. Craziest thing about the whole accident is I had my workboots on when I was driving and they were still in the car wedged under the pedals. I had alot of bruising from my organs slowing down so fast and I had a 7" gash down to my skull from my wing on the back of the car. I did get an helicopter ride to the hospital and was awake for the whole accident. It has made me think a lot more about speeding (just turned 18 when It happened) im 22 now. Another crazy thing about the accident was the name of the road i was on...it was GBC Drive which I figured means "got ben's car" ( ben is my name for u slow people ). Just thought i would share that with you guys. B1SiR6A 06-07-2004, 12:51 AM ...damn thats a story to tell...any scars?...I know alotta girls you could get with that... YellowITR479 06-07-2004, 07:54 AM hehe...females love my battle wounds, i gotta lot more. I have a 7" scar shaped like a ? mark on my head but you cant see it unless I cut my hair off short. Last year I was in the hospital for 10 days cause a radiatorcap blew off a piece of construction equipment I was looking at cause it was overheating and I got 2nd degree burns on 30% of my body....now that was fun...much painkillers and drugs TheSilentChamber 06-07-2004, 08:01 AM Right after I got my license I was at an ... well lets call it an amature rallye race and was driving a ford escort and took a curve too sharp and all four tires lost traction and I slide into a big imbankment and burried the passengerside fender in the dirt. It twisted the frame, busted two headlight bulbs (bulbs not housings), messed up the side of the car and bumper, and this is the kicker... I had a stick about an inch and half thick go between the rim and the bead of the tire on both sides (went all the way though). I was doing about 85 when I hit it. Didnt get hurt though. MexSiR 06-08-2004, 02:18 PM Damn! YellowITR...that like a fu*king Hollywood movie story, you should submit your story to the producers of 2F2F so they can make the Brain dude flip like you did and go out the back window and hit the spoiler...everybody would be like...."Thats fast and furious shit" In real life you would die"....but then again it happened to you and you survived... F*ck! pizzaman 06-08-2004, 02:51 PM We all know people who have had accidents that they should have never survived let alone walked out of. And we all had close calls that should of ended up in accident. My old ponti still has my butt cheek imprints in it from when a 18 wheel jack-knifed beside me and almost took me out. Surviving an accident comes down to this, Driving skill, Pure Fucking Luck, and it wasn't your time to go see the big guy. We should all take a minute and thank the powers that be for not taking our dumb asses out of the picture. I do everytime I park my car at night because I have the most dangerous persons on the road with me... Some spoiled brat bimbo talking on her cell phone while driving her SUV and not paying attention to the road. I'll be damned if I'm going to be taken out by some future trophy wife.......
