on obd2 1.0 engines,what contitutes a good tuneup?what is a good list?

spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank.

so aside from what has been mentioned...what does emission check,air fuel mixture,sensor check fall under? how did the 96 1.0 get the highest ratting mpg 50-60 when it came out?best i have been able so far 40..41.How do you guys check your air fuel mixture on these year motors?thanks

I would add a PCV value, EGR value cleaning, check of all vacuum hoses, and air filter to the tune-up list. Plus a shot of carb cleaner down the throat of the throttle body.

A/F sensor or what we call an oxygen sensor is not generally a tune-up piece. They're general maintenence. Like a timing belt. You can get an air/fuel ratio gauge on Ebay for about $40.
