And maybe there should be a little bit of the engine/trunk area in the back showing. Still a great drawing Ran 05-23-2004, 04:17 AM i know that a lot of people will say to loose the thick lines.. Ill say that, but other than that, it looks good :) Ra_15 05-23-2004, 06:53 AM Looks good :) The wheels aren't perfect, but other than that, it looks great! asaenz 05-23-2004, 07:48 AM SuperDrifter You did a great job using the grid. The body lines are very accurate. Was it your first time using the grids? If so you have any tips for peops that may be trying it for the first time. If you want a smoother blend use stumps. But I like the way your rendered the car anyway, w/o smooth shading. Alfred Jeep_Rubicon 05-23-2004, 09:24 AM good job! GTmike400 05-23-2004, 10:20 AM Great drawing. As far as the shading. Outline the car very lighting, including windows and contour lines. Let the shading seperate the parts of the car. The different shades allow us to see the contours of the car. And also work on smoothing the shading spectrum. Try not to go from gray to stark white so fast. 5uPrA RyDa 05-23-2004, 10:43 AM i like the shading around the body of the car, but the wheels need work. Nice drawing. superdrifter22 05-23-2004, 02:25 PM thanks for all the replys/tips ran: this was my 6th time using the grid, and for anyone that wants to use it i would say just to practice it and just keep doing it over and over until u get it how u want. the shading looks really smooth on the actual drawing. the scan made it a lot darker and it showed those strokes. i do use a stump to blend, but i need to do it a little more on this one. as for the back engine cover, i left it out because it wasn't showing in my ref pic. SeCrEtMoDdEr 05-23-2004, 03:36 PM would a scanner actually show the strokes??? w/e well, the back wheel doesnt look right, thats about it and i dont like how theres an outline. superdrifter22 05-23-2004, 04:38 PM my scanner made it really dark, on the drawing u cant even see the strokes. i didnt even know they were there until i scanned it. D[X]P 05-23-2004, 06:12 PM Very nice. I just drew my first 3d picture of a STi and it came out pretty nice. used the faq u guys have and it was helpfull. I dont have a scanner so u guys wont see my pics, unless i take a pic of the drawing with my camera ImolaEK 05-23-2004, 09:13 PM looks very nice. i dont like scanning things. They look uglier than taking a picture of it with a digicam. My scanner loves to play tricks to me :loser: Diabolical B 05-23-2004, 09:20 PM Dude I like it. It's all about like having three values of shade...looks cool, I like your style. Is the cast shadow pure black? Cause it would look kickin' that way. superdrifter22 05-23-2004, 09:20 PM ive never tried taking a pic of a drawing instead of scanning it. ill have to do that with my next drawing. bonzelite 05-24-2004, 05:43 PM that's pretty frickin good, man. nice style and linework. make more convincing and crisper reflections on glass and sheetmetal. other than that, you are on a great track. show us more! superdrifter22 05-24-2004, 09:46 PM this was my second attempt at shading one of my drawings(first succesful) i really need to work on it and practice more...
