extended warranty

I just bought a new 2004 Aztek. I have about a week to decide whether to get the extended warranty, and wonder what other owner's recommend.

I have never bought an extended warranty but this time I am considering it because of some of the problems with the Aztek that I have seen listed on various sites.

Any information would be appreciated.

please do your self a huge favor and buy an extended warranty gmpp major gaurd is the best you can get, you can buy it up until your 3yr 36,000 mile warranty expires but not after.

I agree with nick0750. I have a friend who owns a 2001 and her extended warranty has saved her at least $7,000, probably more. Unfortunately the warranty company she has is in bankruptcy and her instrument module went bad. That is right, the instruments you look at is a whole module and they send it out. The first sign was a light went out and it turns out to be an led. When they checked it out, turns out the whole thing has to be replaced, so we are talking $600+. They are doing it at cost since they are not honoring the warranty any more.

I'm looking around to see what can be done about her car because it has had a boatload of trouble since she has had it. The car has all of 48,000 on it and so far it has had the intake manifold fail, A/C, alternator and a number of electrical problems.

This is very unfortunate because she really likes that car. It may be ugly according to the critics but it will do whatever she wants... when it is working that is.
