After driving for about 30 km's the check engine light will always come on. Put the code reader on it and a code 41 came up. Any ideas? The truck is an 89 ranger 4wd supercab, 2.9l automatic.

Code 41 is a short or open condition in the alternator field control unit. This condition will cause the check engine light to go on.
