I broke my right thumb today, which will effectively prohibit any more drawings for a while.

Looks like someone will have to win the contests for a while in my wake, at least until my rehabilitation is over.

i dont think he will mind if i tell you what happened if you dont already know....... he was playin basketball and he went to dunk and the hoop uhh kinda broke and he fell hard and is on heavy vicadin... as for the recovery ask him

now is a perfect time to habilitate your left hand for drawing: a draftsman will only benefit from being able to use both hands, even if one is dominant.

My story for Kustom:

About 9 years ago me and my wife were framing a picture. We accidently broke the glass. I threw the glass away and went about my business. The next day I was cleaning the backyard. I filled the can with weeds and junk and to make more room I pushed the weeds down. The glass shot up threw the weeds and sliced open my right (drawing) arm. I severed all the tendons that make it possible to open your hand. My hand curled up like a stepped on spider. I had emergency surgery that night. A specialist from Phoenix was flown down to re-attach my tendons. It sucked....badly.

My boss at the t-shirt shop was an a*s. I missed 3 days of work and he told me I needed to come in or lose my job. I couldn't print shirts because I had this robotic looking gadjet on my arm. I asked him if I could go on the computer and try to learn how to do some text wrapping or whatever. He reluctantly said yes.

That was my first exposure to the computer, and I now make my living with it. After 6 months of rehab I landed a job at an Aerospace company and haven't looked back.

Since my right hand was jacked I learned to use the mouse left handed (with right hand button configuration). Now I can draw and surf at the same time seamlessly. People always ask me if I'm left handed, and I say "Nope..left moused."

Moral?

Sometimes something looks really really bad, but because of it something really really good can happen.

Stay positive...we'll hold down the fort till you get back.

As for updates, I am going to see a hand specialist guy on monday to make sure the bones are lined up right. I may get it cast then too.

Got a new cast today. Its black. Ill have a pic up soon. And Bonzelite, I was on Vicadin for a while, but Im not anymore. I have just been taking Ibuprofen as needed.
