1998 6C: fan speeds 1-2 out, where's the resistor circuit boards?

I saw a solution for this posted somewhere, that there's a ceramic resistor card somewhere on the pass firewall for this. I had the whole pass under-dash off yesterday, but I can't find this anywhere.

Afterward, I looked in the power distribution fuse-block-thingy under the hood, and I notice that it looks like there are 2 "blower relays" in there... Is this where the problem could be, one of the relays is bad? Is it possible to test them? I already noticed that it is impossible to reverse the relays, that was my first plan at diagnosis...

Thanks,
Tom

Well, I pulled the blower motor out yesterday (3 screws under the pass side dash) and when it was out I could see the resistor card through the hole where the blower motor goes... It was obviously at least PARTIALLY burned out, since it looked like 1/2 the card was blackened and charred... That was the easy part though. Looks like the card is held into the blower assy on a plastic cover (that the blower wires feed through) that is screwed onto the blower assy by three 7/32 screws from the bottom. I can see 2, I can actually remove 1, another is visible but impossible to remove except maybe with a 7/32 open end wrench, but the third I can only feel with the tip of my pinkie, and I don't know WHAT I could use to get it out... I am thinking perhaps I can braze a 7/32 shorty 1/4" drive socket onto the end of a flexcable wrench... I don't know really, perhaps I'll try it when I find the tools. For now I decided to live with speeds 3-5.

Thanks,
Tom
