1998 6C: A/C water causes corrosion shorts?

I saw somewhere that there has been a documented issue where A/C drain water can drain back into the pass comp and get under the rug, corroding some harness connections. Result is inop window and lock circuits. Is this true?

Reason I ask, I have had problems with the power windows and locks, and it sounds just like this. Part of the solution regarded fixing some sort of drain tube "L fitting" so that the water wasn't forced back into the cabin while you are driving. I've looked under the vehicle and under the carpet, and I can't find any damaged wires OR water. Nor can I find the elusive drain outlet...

Help?
Thanks,
Tom

The lock circuits were in fact corroded and damaged. I fixed the splices in light blue and white wires, and the locks were fixed, just like everybody said!

I found the a/c outlet, and the tube is missing. I was ablew to touch it from in front of the car, and from inside the wheel well (with the wheel off) once I knew where to look for it, I used a mirror and a flashlight to see it behind the engine about 6" right of the gap along the left edge (the belt opening area) on the firewall. I'll net a new tube from the dealer tomorrow (NO GM dealers are open in my area of Michigan on EITHER day of the weekend)

Thanks!
Tom

I know this is a very late reply but for the benefit of this thread I am posting my experience with my 99 Montana. I had water accumulating under the carpet of the van during the summer under heavy AC use. There is a 4 or 5 inch rubber drain tube on the fire wall that was missing. I put a new one in and this solved the problem. It is a bear to get to but it is located on the passanger side behind the engine on the firewall.
