Shifting problemsXIntegraX 05-20-2004, 12:17 AM i drive a 96 ranger xlt and recently i have been experiencing some problems with the shifting. when i start the car, it seems that the engine is already reving and that i dont even have to gas it for it to go. then after i drive it for a while and then i park it somewhere and come back to it like 8 hrs later, it wont let me shift back into first gear. simply said, after driving for half an hour, then parking it for 8 hrs, then starting to drive it again, the car wont let me shift back into first. if anyone has had this problem, can they please helpme? 97chevyman 05-20-2004, 10:45 PM i assum this is a manual. Sounds like you need to bleed the hydrolic brake setup. Could be low on fluid also. Now if this is an automatic, sounds like a bad IAC or TPS sensor, both are pretty easy to test, just get a chiltons manual and test. XIntegraX 05-21-2004, 12:12 PM i dont think its the brake setup because even when i come to a full stop, it seems the engine is still reving so its like im stopped but the engine keeps going 2000mudder 05-26-2004, 11:54 PM do you have a check engine light on? could be temp sensor/throdel pos sensor, ect. what motor & trans? 97chevyman 05-31-2004, 11:44 AM i ment the hydralic clutch setup. Is it a manual then or auto? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
